Assess your workplace hazards with OSHAid

Identify your hazards, assess them with simple criteria, add photos and context, and let AI lend a hand.

Assessing a hazard in OSHAidA quick look at assessing a hazard, with criteria, photos and AI assistance. In this article

Identifying hazards

The assessment starts with an inventory: which hazards exist in your business, at which workstations, in which work situations? OSHAid structures this inventory so nothing important gets missed.

Walk through your work areas one by one and ask yourself the simple question: what here could injure someone or harm their health?

Suggested hazards and custom hazards

Thanks to your industry module, OSHAid suggests a base of hazards typical of your sector: you browse through them, keep the ones that apply to you and set aside the rest. It is far quicker than starting from a blank page.

Every business also has its particularities: you can create custom hazards to cover the situations specific to your workplace.

Assessing a hazard with simple criteria

For each hazard you keep, you assess it using criteria such as severity (what are the consequences if an accident happens?), likelihood (how often does the situation occur?) or exposure (how many people are affected, and for how long?).

These criteria produce a rating that lets you rank your hazards: you know which ones to tackle first in your action plan.

Adding photos and context

A photo of the workstation, a note about how work is organized, a concrete example: these bits of context make your assessment clearer for your team — and more credible during an inspection.

On mobile, take the photo right there on the shop floor as you assess the hazard: it is the best way to stay true to reality.

Getting help from AI

OSHAid's AI assists you at two key moments: to better qualify a hazard (rephrasing, clarifying the dangerous situation) and to suggest preventive actions suited to the hazard you assessed.

The suggestions remain just that — suggestions: you always make the call, based on your knowledge of the ground.

Let AI save you time

Describe the situation in your own words: the AI helps you qualify it correctly and suggests relevant preventive actions, which you can adopt in one tap.
